    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    FILTER BY TYPE

    • TRIVIA (2)

      • Ben and Cindy only mention their daughter, Ginny, who died not too long ago, but not their son, Charlie. They also give the impression that Ginny was still fairly young, though both of their children would be in the early twenties by now.

      • Although Mary Ellen and her husband at the time Curt had a son, John Curtis in season six, there was no mention of him at all in this movie. Instead Mary-Ellen has two more children with her husband Jonesy, even though she was told having more children could be fatal to both her and any potential babies.

    • QUOTES (2)

      • Opening Narration: The symbol of family for all of us, this old house, remained the center of our lives even though we children had moved away. I was living in New York City, and Elizabeth was traveling abroad. All my other brothers and sisters made their homes within a few miles of Walton's Mountain. For me, coming home was remembering what was real and meaningful, even when outside events turned everything upside down, the way they did in November of 1963.

      • Closing Narration: That Thanksgiving, with all its heartache and uncertanty, stands out as one we will never forget. As far as I know, my mother and father never again talked of moving from the house where we'd all grown up. It still stands, generous in its love, filled with memories, and always ready to welcome us home.

    • NOTES (1)

      • This TV special marks the first time that all the original cast members have been together since Richard Thomas and Michael Learned left the show.
