When Jim Bob and Elizabeth are in the barn, Jim Bob says "thanks" without moving his mouth.
Goofs: during the baptism scene there are several. First one is after corabeth returns to the bank and they cut to mamie and Emily if you look close the little girl getting dunked looks likes she's already been in the water the whole front of her is soaked though hair's not. Second goof is that Mary ellen doesn't get baptized. Third goof is when at the end if you look at the crowd erin looks like she has wet hair but she'd already been baptized according to a comment made earlier in the episode. Cora beth also looks like she's wearing something blue under her robe but it doesn't show except near her neck and not at all through robe,. What does show looks darker than what did before and not even really blue
Emily: (watching the baptisms from the riverbank) Sister, were we baptised?
Mamie: Oh of course dear, but not like this. We were sprinkled.
Opening Narration: We were a religious people on Walton's Mountain. The church was the center of our social, as well as our spiritual, lives. Each year there would come a great religious revival when each of us would be called upon to examine our conscience and to receive salvation. It was a time of joyous reunion, of intense religious fervor, and was looked forward to with great anticipation by everyone except my father.
Closing Narration: Each year revival time would come and go. My father never was baptized, but that did not keep him from worshiping his God as he saw fit, and being, at least to his friends and to his family, the most godly of men.
The German episode title is "Die Bekehrung", meaning "The Conversion".
