They shoot the infomercial live, with Gary Coleman acting as a celebrity spokesperson. This is the first ever Wayans Bros. episode, and although it is not on the level of the many classics Shawn and Marlon delivered later on in the show's running, it is certainly a solid effort. The special guest appearance by Gary Coleman as the celebrity spokesperson for Shawn and Marlon's hair product, "Goop-Hair-It-Is," is excellent. The way Shawn and Marlon present the product is hilarious, and it's funny to see how they try to cover for Gary Coleman when his hair catches fire. I love when Marlon grabs a bit of Gary's hair after it is being burnt and says, "Look how soft and silky it is!" The apartment scene with the brothers, Shawn's girlfriend Lisa and Garrett Morris (who also puts in a really good appearance) is also really funny. The main criticism is that at this point the show is less-developed than it would later become in most aspects. Of course, you would never have known that before the newer episodes came out, and it's only natural and correct for artists to evolve and improve over time.
