Marlon's actress friend Stacey convinces him to help her audition fot the Tisch School of Performing Arts. Marlon begins to consider an acting career for himself -- an idea that Shawn thinks is ridiculous and unrealistic. Marlon uses the anger from his argument with Shawn to fuel his performance in the audition and ends up getting a scholarship.moreless

Marlon's girlfriend Stacy is an actress and tries to get Marlon to help her practice her lines by reading the male part in one of the scenes. However, Marlon makes a mockery of it, even when she convinces him to perform it with her in front of his family (Pops and Shawn find it hilarious anyway). Despite this, when Marlon accompanies Stacy to her audition, he ends up reading the male character's part with her and impresses the acting school teacher with his flair, getting a scholarship, even though Stacy does not impress him. Inspired by the irony, Marlon begins considering an acting career for himself, although Shawn thinks that it is unrealistic. This episode shows Marlon Wayans's true acting skills in the monologue scene, and that he is an extremely talented guy (hey, he went to LaGuardia High School, he's gotta be good). This episode is a fine addition to Season 2, although the second half is much better than the first.
