Season 7 Episode 16

Election Day (Part 1)

Aired Wednesday 9:00 PM Apr 02, 2006 on NBC

  • Trivia

    • It is visible that none of the campaign staff seems to have voted as through out the day they seems to have stayed in the hotel monitoring the situation of the election, especially Josh noting how cold it is in Texas after the death of Leo, which means he has not yet stepped outside apart from going to the hospital

    • When the Santos' walk into their house, Matt asks where the kids are. Helen replies it's a Tuesday. Most schools are closed on National Election Days.

    • Despite the fact that Josh was shot and had extensive open-heart surgery in the second season, when Josh and Donna are in bed there is no scarring on his chest.

Likewise, Donna has no scars from the bombing of the CODEL in the end of the fifth/start of the sixth season.

    • The Santos house features three different staircases in three different episodes.

In the season 6 episode "Impact Winter", the staircase inside the front door to the house can be seen leading away from the door to the left of the hall.

In season 7, in the episode "Running Mates", the staircase can be seen coming down from left to right behind the door in a number of scenes,

Later in season 7, in the two "Election Day" episodes, the staircase has changed yet again, now curving upwards from the right of the door. Either Helen Santos has been doing some extensive remodelling, or different sets were used in each episode.

    • Josh talks about people going to the polls in Oregon but the entire state votes by mail.

  • Quotes

    • Annabeth (referring to Leo, who is sleeping as the election numbers are coming in): I'm betting he's going to want to be up for this.

    • Bruno (moves his watch from his left wrist to his right): Superstitious. One of my election day good luck routines.
      Jane: One of?
      Bruno: You met Carrie already.

    • Annabeth: Leo's going to sleep the whole damn thing. I got to go get him up. What can I say? Nerves of steel. I just got to get him themed up for the party. He's been threatening to wear his robe.

    • Will: You spend the night at my house more often then not.
      Kate: Which makes me...?
      Will: A really good date.

    • Charlie (to C.J.): You're a smart savvy woman who could easily consider world domination for a next career move.
