The Wiggles return to their home town of Sydney, Australia to give a concert featuring all the usual mascots (Captain Feathersword, Wags the Dog, Dorothy the Dinosaur, and Henry the Octopus)., the Wiggly Dancers, and even Santa Claus. The live and on-stage presence of the Wiggly Orchestra adds to the experience.
The song selection is a mix of Wiggles classics, efforts from the Lights, Camera, Action series, and a few newer ones like Eagle Rock and Central Park New York. As usual, all the dances and songs are pretty simple so that kids can dance along too. The skits were entertaining enough to keep the toddlers interested; it’s not dialogue heavy compared to other kids videos. The Christmas Medley is also a nice finish to the show; I can see how Disney would play that part often over Christmas.
The video definitely captures what typically goes on at the concert, and prepares you for what things to bring such as roses for Dorothy, bones for Wags. Jeff does a few acrobatic stunts and runs through the audience, and Anthony pronouncing those inflatable floating things bully-yoons is fun. And the occasional blooper and cameo is fun to see.
Since it’s dated somewhere after the Lights, Camera, Action series, there are quite a few Network Wiggles skits and songs, so if those bored you on TV, they’ll likely bore you on video too.
