The Wild House

Show Summary

Welcome to The Wild House guide at TV.com. Smart and cute serialized children's series, set in the home of the crazy Wild family: parents and three precocious children. Taking center-stage is Natalie, a clever and articulate 13-year-old making the transition from childish concerns to teenage woes - worrying about clothes, boyfriends and all that. With his obsession about wildlife, Natalie's ten-year-old brother Arthur (nicknamed 'Wart') seems intent on becoming the next David Attenborough; sister Serena, 16, just wants a boyfriend. Mum and Dad have (in the stories) less to do than their offspring but, at various times, all of the Wilds (even the dog) speak directly to the camera, commenting upon their lives while random dream-like images are projected behind them. By the start of the second series Serena has left for Boston on a science scholarship, and several episodes later Mum and Dad join her in the USA, leaving the rest of the clan to be looked after by aunts, uncles and a granny. Cousin Georgina, a feisty 16-year-old, also moves in. In the finale, the rest of the Wild clan prepared to move Stateside.moreless

Love this programme so soooo much

i used to come home from school everyday just to watch it

it was so weird but funny!

i loved the characters in it, one of them was in eastenders the other day i think, as the policewoman.

she was the weird goth one i remember :)

bestttt programme ever, it has to be said

wish it would come back!! cbbc has gone down hill recently and they need something like "the wild house" to make it much better! i mean, who likes raven or dinosapian?

The wildhouse is where its at and everyone aggrees with me.

I LOVED this show. I miss it so much now. I think they made about 4 series of it. It was shown on BBC back in the 90s and I'd rush home from school every week to watch it.

Basically it was about the Wild family (hence how the show got its name) and they'd come home from school and it was really about their after school adventures, which was why I related to it so well. There was the middle child, Natalie, she seemed the most down to earth of the bunch. She had an older sister called Serena (I think) and a younger brother called Arthur who loved to bring home creepy crawlies or trade them with his friends. The best part of the show for me was when each member of the household would appear on screen and tell you their personal views of the situation. Sometimes even the dog would express his views!

I really wish they would release this on DVD or even repeat the series, it was a true classic show.moreless
