Lighting strikes, thunder roars, the rain pours, and the wind blows – all foreboding elements to a trip to Bleak Island. Even the captain of the small ship doesn't wish to leave the boat, and prays for safety for everyone.

West, on behalf of the government's notice of entitlement to a rare diamond, and a few greedy people hoping to receive something at the reading of Bleak's will arrive in a terrible storm to an isolated island, and what looks like a medieval castle.

A typically orchestrated 'terror' episode, with thunder crashing and lighting striking at opportune times during the episode, West with his customary fighting of four men that he wins – only to be sucker punched by one, and put out like a light.

Dropped into a deep well with flat walls, West assails to the top with tiger nails that come of his jacket, and attach to each wrist, to allow him to dig in and climb.

This is a slightly above average episode, highlighted with John Williams' appearance – a trusted old friend that West had previously worked with, and who you just knew was going to be the bad guy in the end.

A cute tag includes West introducing his date that night as Nancy Conrad (one of his daughter's names) to a couple that survive Bleak Island and arrive with a package forwarded by Arte. A note indicates the enclosed gift was sent to help West through the hum drum days without him – a picture of Arte.

The DVD box indicates the title as "The Night of Bleak Island" but the episode, per the screen, is actually, "The Night of the Bleak Island".moreless
