Episode Summary

"Winter Haunts"
Snow is falling heavily on the River Bank and the Wild Wood, making most roads and paths impassable. As a result, Badger, Rat and Mole are stranded at Toad Hall for the night, and Toad is delighted to offer them his hospitality. During a discussion of families, Mole tells them that one of his ancestors is supposed to have been responsible for a riding accident, in which King Alexander III of Scotland was killed. This leads to him remembering the time that he believed Mole End was haunted (see The Ghost At Mole End), and also prompts Toad to claim, once again, that Toad Hall is full of ghosts. When his friends scoff at the idea, Toad comes up with an idea to put them in their places. He secretly disguises himself as the ghost of his Uncle Hector, and waits in the cellar to surprise them. However, Mole locks the cellar door on his way to bed, and Toad is stuck outside! Fortunately, he is also in a secret tunnel, through which he is able to get round to the front door. When he finally makes his entrance, everyone gets a shock...even Toad himself!moreless
