  • First Season Finale...or is it the Series Finale?...

    8.0
The best episode in the short series' run (although taking that title, wouldn't be too hard). This was a good episode, it was funny. Katey Sagal was very good, in her role as Rob Corddry's former home room teacher. In this episode Lenny Clarke also stood out the most, as he actually had some funny lines for once. While the storyline isn't all that original (they even make a reference to The Graduate, during the show), they do put a unique twist on things, by Katey Sagal trying to make Rob Corddry a better lover. Katey Sagal looked amazing in the show as well, a lot better than she looked on Lost last season.moreless
  • Still not sure what to think...

    8.5
Part of me wants to like this show, while the other part of me is screaming about how formulaic the situations are. This episode had some amusing parts, like Glen not understanding that his former teacher was after casual sex, and the role reversal of the man wanting more. Also, the ending was something that was very expected, and taken right from the cliche' hall of fame, and yet I liked it. This shouldn't be, but I think that I'm going to worry about whether or not Glen will hook up with the hot mom. Oi. Well, the show is interesting, not the best, but amusing. So if you're looking for a way to not think for about 30 minutes, give it a try.moreless

    • Glen: Mrs. Burko you're trying to seduce me.

    • Glen: So where should i sit, Mrs. Burko, you don't seem to have any chairs...
(Mrs. Burko sits on bed and taps the bed next to her)
      Glen: Oooh-kay...

    • Glen: (posing as Josh's father) I'm here to discuss the delinquent behavior of my offspring?

    • Allison: UGH, if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go and...beat the cat!
      (Allison exits)
Josh: God, I can't tell her about my teacher when she's like this. I mean, I rarely say this, but that broad scares me.
      (crowd laughs)
Josh: Hey why don't you go in and talk to my teacher. You could pretend to be my dad, I mean, luckily, you look like a man.
Glen: Oh my God, thank you!

    • Josh: Wendy said hello, and touched my arm. She got my name wrong, but it still felt nice.
Glen: heh, felt nice? It sounds like one of those "Dear Penthouse" letters.

  • NOTES (1)

  • ALLUSIONS (5)

    • The Graduate

When Mrs. Burko asks Glen to take her bra off her replies with "Mrs. Burko you're trying to seduce me. This is a line similar to the line in The Graduate: "Mrs. Robinson you're trying to seduce me."

    • Hangin' With Mr. Cooper

When Mrs. Burko invites Glen upstairs he references the fact that a new episode of Hangin' With Mr. Cooper (link) is on, a show popular in 1994.

    • Target

When Mrs. Burko compliments Glen on his outfit he says that he "just got it at Tar-ghey" which is a French sounding name for Target to make it seem more high class.

    • The Cosby Show

When posing as Josh's dad, Glen dresses like Bill Cosby did in The Cosby Show. He even calls himself "Clifford Huxtable McKellar."

    • Hot For Teacher

The title of this episode is the title of a song by the group Van Halen.
