Slowly, methodically- that's how this series builds a story; kinda like a police case. All of the characters and subplots matter, and they are pieced together with the utmost care to build a coherent whole; it's like nothing else on television. Take this episode: the burner phones, a seemingly minor storyline, are taking center stage as the way the resourceful detail plans to get inside the dealers' operation; Dee's murder is coming back to haunt Stringer; the Hamsterdam plot has been fleshed out into a realistic and poignant social commentary; Carcetti is starting to figure prominently into the story. The Wire is storytelling of the highest caliber; I'm willing to wait while they spin the story in their own way- it's worth the wait...moreless
When Butchie gives the missing policeman's handgun to Bunk, he refers to it as a 'Glock 40'. Glock manufactures no Model 40 handgun, and it cannot be a .40 caliber Glock since it was established early on that the weapon in question was a 9mm Glock.

Herc: It's like one of those nature shows. You mess with the environment, some species get fucked out of their habitat.
Carv: Did you just use the word 'habitat' in a sentence?
Herc: I did.
