It was kind of weird seeing McNulty in the movie "300" playing a cowardly back stabbing politician.  I like him better as the booze hound detective that he is in "The Wire".  It hard to believe that he speaks with such a thick British accent in real life.

haven't seen the movie yet, but his natural voice... it's weird when you hear him talk like that. There's a commentary on one of the season two eps on the DVD with him and the actor who plays Omar.
But there is no booze hound Jimmy anymore anyway... oh well.

His history is really interesting - as a Brit finding out he was English was initially a real shock and I still find it strange when I see him in programmes such as the Hour or on stage in Butley - www.butleylondon.com/cast/cast-member

He is one of those actors where you are never sure what their real voice is - is that an asset for an actor or does it create problems?
