Got to love Jay Landsman, Avon was the best on the street, him and WEE BEY!!! lol. Bey was a stone cold gangster, just like AVon. I liked Stringer to as he brought a different dimension to the group, if it was just Avon and Bey they wouldnt have been as powerful as they would not have had the money invested in things and all the legit money coming in.

I CAN't BELIEVE NOBODY SAID CEDRICK DANIELS. This guy is unbelievable. And Lester Freeman too is amazing. Prez transformation from a total dick to the most lickable guy ever was amazing as well. Marlo's boy Chris is super badass. But comeon, OMAR is my #1. You know how most shows have like 1 or 2 characters that you just love?? well, the wire has like 15 of those for me. Just another reason why it's the best show ever made.

I strongly suggest this threads gets turned into a poll. It would be great although there may be too many great characters to be included. Anyway I say Wee-Bay, Omar, and Avon.

    wallace from season 1

    dukie from season 4

    kenard from season 4

and the kid whose name evades me (the one who steals cars in season 4, and passes namond's new house in a lexus in the season finale of season 4)

these are the most likable characters thus far for me.. they lived in the same world as all the other boys, but didn't go hard in it like everybody else.

oh, and i almost forgot cutty. nice character

McNulty is probably the most likeable, and in season 1 Wallace and D'Angelo are vey sympathetic characters. But Omar would have to be the coolest character - whenever he is on screen he just dominates proceedings.

Although it is one of the best ensemble casts that I've ever seen, Omar is the most intriguing character and is only made so by the actor playing him. PJC

I forgot all about D' He was very good. Complex. Had to be in the family business but saw the futility of it. Had all the goodies that went with the position, but he was as much a prisoner of the projects as bodie, wallace & poot.

Cedrick Daniels and Freeman: fantastic. company man has integrity, and exiled good cop gets to exercise his chops.

Bubb's is about the most raggedy-ass character that I've seen on TV and yet he hasn't lost everything, not yet. PJC

i would have to say Bodie, he went hard protecting that corner, and Stringer Bell, but mostly because he scares the crap out of me. Kevin and Snoop too.

Can't believe no one's said Rawls or Prop Joe. Spiros is pretty cool too. But the cast is so immense and brilliantly acted you'd need a per-episode list rather than an overall one!

man i can´t believe nobody said bubbles!! He´s just necessary on the wire.... bubbles, kyma and mcnulty, my top 3, very good acting...

On the dark side i would have to say stringer, bodie and omar, they´re very good 2..

But on the wire, you can´t have a favorite only, there are so many good and deep characters that we alway forgot one.

Like senator davis? That man is hilarious, he is always stealing money from someone with a smile in his face...

Homicide sargent and tac ops hawls 2, i laughed a lot with those..
