Mulan is a girl, the only child of her honored family. When the Huns invade China, one man from every family is called to arms. Mulan's father, who has an old wound and cannot walk properly, decides to fight for his country and the honor of his family though it is clear that he will not survive an enemy encounter. Mulan, who just got rejected by the matchmaker because she had set her on fire, decides to prove that she is worth something and steals away to fit her father's place in the Chinese army. She prays to her family's ancestors for protection and luck before leaving as a man in her father's armor with her family's horse. The ancestors awake and decide to send Mushu, a little dishonored dragon to aid Mulan in her quest. Weeks later, Mulan and the other troopers have survived the training camp and are on the way north to stop the huns. After being spotted and pursued by the enemies, an impass situation in the mountains forces Mulan to come up with an idea. But then, her real gender will no longer be a secret. She decides to risk everything in order to save China.moreless
  • Geppetto

    Episode 12
    5/7/00
    7.0
In simple terms, this is a motion picture-sized musical extravaganza for the small screen that depicts the tale of "Pinocchio" from the eyes of his "father" Geppetto. Starting with his "son's" creation, Geppetto quickly learns that children are not perfect; what he fails to understand is that such imperfections may be derived from the parent. Subsequently, when Pinocchio runs away with the evil gold-loving Stromboli and then to Pleasure Island, Geppetto requires lessons in parenthood and of the heart and inner soul. In hilarious fashion, the Blue Fairy assists Geppetto on his journey to eventually find both understanding and Pinocchio.moreless

    9.0
Third in a series of Disney movies based on the 1951 classic film "Angels in the Outfield". About a pitcher with the Anaheim Angels, who because of an error in the final play of an important game ends up losing his confidence, his wife, and his daughter. Brittney Irvin is a delight to watch as his daughter who comes to lives with her estranged father. She befriends her invisible "guardian Angel" who comes to help her and her dad. Her confidence in her dad and her faith infect those around her (especially her father's agent) until they can't help in believing in the guardian angel and themselves as well. David Alan Grier is always funny. A nice bit has David popping up all around Brittney (as a hot dog vendor, an older woman, a baby). David plays an angel on the second string of Heaven's Baseball League who was once an up-and-coming pitcher himself. God sends him to Earth not only to help the girl and her father, but to answer his own prayer of getting one more chance to play real baseballmoreless

Meet Eve (Tyra Banks). With her cloud of dark hair, stunning green eyes, and long legs that never seem to quit, she is a paragon of beauty. Eve loves to have fun. In her orange convertible, she dashes to the mall on a shopping spree or out dancing with one of her many beaus, the belle of the ball. She can do anything. Eve has been a police officer, a secretary, and a doctor. On top of that, she is the perfect homemaker at her little house in Sunnyvale. And Eve can talk -- she is every girl's special friend. She does favor glitzy jewelry and clothes, but what else would you expect from a plastic toy doll? Cut from a television commercial to the real world, where 12-year-old Casey Mitchell (Lindsay Lohan) is in the middle of a co-ed football game. She gets into a scrap with another player -- a boy who blames her for his fumbles -- but what really bothers her is that, yet again, her father has failed to keep his promise to show up. Ben Mitchell (Jere Burns) is immersed in work at his law practice, something that has become a habit since his wife's death two years ago. In the middle of a meeting with his associates Richie Ackerman (Garwin Sanford) and Drew Peterson (Anne Marie Loder), he remembers that he is missing Casey's game. Chagrined, he declines Drew's dinner invitation for the next night because it is Casey's birthday. He is not unaware of Drew's attractiveness, but some part of Ben still cannot let go of the past. Richie chastises Ben for turning Drew down and not taking more of an interest in life -- he is long overdue to rejoin the human race. Casey, whose emotional isolation after her mother's death has led her to snub all her old friends, decides to take matters into her own hands. She visits a local bookstore in search of an occult book containing a spell that will bring her mom back to life. Short of funds, she leaves all her savings and an I.O.U., then bolts. That night, as Casey and her father share an awkward birthday dinner at home, Drew stops by with a gift -- the glamorous Eve doll. Sports-loving Casey barely hides her disdain for the "girl" present. Later in her room, Casey meticulously assembles the simple items required for the incantation, which will work only once. Drew interrupts, and accidentally the Eve doll's hair gets mixed up among the objects. Casey says the magic words and goes to sleep. In the night, the Eve doll comes to life. The spell will become permanent in four days unless Casey can reverse it. She sneaks out with Eve in tow to track down volume two of the occult book, which will send Eve back to doll world, pronto. But things don't go quite so smoothly, and the daring duo have a string of adventures together that change their lives forever!moreless
