The Woodwright's Shop is the long running craft show on PBS. Beginning in 1979, host Roy Underhill has brought his charm to weekend warriors all over the country. Underhill places an emphasis on creating work with manual tools from yesteryear, as opposed to the power tools from today. The show is filmed at the University of North Carolina, and episodes are shot in a singe take with no edits, adding an "anything can happen" vibe that is missing from other "how-to" shows. The Woodwright's Shop has featured many woodworkers as guests including Frank Klausz, Nora Hall, Steve Latta, David Calvo, Michael Dunbar, Dan Mack, Don Weber, Wayne Barton and Curtis Buchanan. In addition to woodworking, pother topics covered include tinsmithing, spoon carving, cooperage, lutherie, whirligigs, archery, puppetry, and blacksmithing. So grab your tools and prepare to break a sweat! The Woodwright's Shop is produced by UNC-TV and is sponsored through support of State Farm Insurance.
