It's got a "poor" rating, which I don't think it deserves. I personally love this show.

Poor howard- if you don't feel sorry for him you are dead inside

I thought you felt it was "ok but not the best"

Yeah, i like it a lot, even if it is horribly cringeworthy. I watch it with my hands over my eyes.. knowing that something's going to go horribly wrong with him

You are not alone.  Unfortunately living in the States, I only have the oppertunity to watch the show when it runs on BBC America or when I pop in the DVD.  I agree with the comparision to Meet the Parents, but the situtation poor Howard gets himself into makes you want to cring, roll over, and die with him (laughing all the way) !!!

Absolutely love it - hilarious, and yet completely painful to watch!

It's my favourite Brittish comedy, apart from Green Wing!

Funniest comedy on the BBC at the moment, which isn't hard I know. Looking forward to maybe another series, what else could happen to poor Howard?

It's Frank Spencer updated with Basil Fawlty's persistent smarminess. Howard manages to be totally unsympathetic though and you just can't root for him the way you used to do for poor Frank on Some Mothers Do Have "Em. Also, on Fawlty Towers, the fault could sometimes lay with Manuel(Eve), Sybil(Mel) or one of the patrons. Here, it's all just down to Howard and his act gets old very fast indeed.

The US adapted Worst Week fizzled out even quicker, but, it couldn't have gone for 26 episodes like a normal sitcom. At least the BBC series only go for six or seven scripts per year at most.
