    • The other headstone in the cemetary scene was inscribed to Jack Hardy, an assistant director on both Millennium and The Lone Gunmen, who has also since died.

    • The gravestone at which Mulder sets the flowers in the cemetary-walk scene is inscribed Kim Manners. Kim Manners is a long-time director of X-Files, who directed 52 episodes. The gravestone is inscribed with Kim Manners' actual birth-date and death-date, January 13, 1951 - January 25, 2009. It also is inscribed with the epitaph "Let's kick it in the ass," which Kim Manners was fond of saying.

    • Mulder's ring tone is the theme music for X-Files

    • Daggoo, the dog who Guy Mann adopted is most likely named after a crewmember of the Pequod in Herman Melville's Moby Dick. Director Darin Morgan has referenced characters from this book in several of the episodes he directed in past seasons. In fact, Scully also adopted a dog named after Quequeg (the Pequod's first mate) in Morgan's episode Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose.

    • Guy Mann's outfit is very similar to that worn by Darren McGavin in the 70s TV series Kolchak: The Night Stalker.
