Scully: Look at these names. These are test subjects.
Doggett: Grab them Monica, we've got less than a minute to get out of here.
Scully: Just give me a second.
Doggett: WE GOT NO TIME!
Scully: No let go, let me do this. I have to see if I'm here. My name, my baby's name -
Kersh: You ever hear of King George the III?
Doggett: You answer my question!
Kersh: He was King of England when America declared independence in 1776. King George the III kept a diary. On July 4th he made an entry in it: "Nothing important happened today"
Doggett: What the hell does that got to do with me?
Kersh: A revolution started, and even kings can miss them if they are not paying attention.
According to Kersh, on July 4th, 1776 King George III wrote in his diary "Nothing Important Happened Today", July 4th 1776 being the day America declared its independance from Great Britain.
This episode is dedicated to the memory of Chad Keller, who was killed in the terrorist attacks of 11 September 2001. Chad Keller, a rocket scientist, was a family friend of Chris Carter and his wife, Dori.
The first tag line change for season nine is the title, 'Nothing Important Happened Today'.
