The X-Files

Monday 9:00 PM on FOX Premiered Sep 10, 1993 In Season

  • Season 7 Episode 19: Hollywood A.D.

  • Towards the end of the autopsy scene, Scully has her back to the wall while talking to Mulder on her phone. If you look closely, you can see the crew member's shadows moving across the wall behind her.

  • When the cell phone rings during the scene in the crypt, Mulder uncovers the dead body with the phone in its hand. The display on the phone says "Micah Hoffman". Why then would they assume that it was Micah Hoffman's phone since caller ID indicates who is calling, not who owns the phone.

  • This episode was loosely based on the real life case of Mark Hofmann who many believe is the one of the most successful forgers in history. He successfully fooled the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to buying counterfeit documents that cast the church in bad light.

  • Season 7 Episode 18: Brand X

  • Given that Scully had already surmised that the bug larvae were being transferred by inhaling smoke, and knew from where it was coming, how come nobody was wearing any protection, like a gas mask or something when they went to investigate the guy responsible? Even as Skinner goes to step on the cigarette to put it out towards the end, it is still giving off significant amounts of smoke and he knew the dangers. Seems a little incongruous.

  • Season 7 Episode 17: All Things

  • The music Mulder is dancing to after the theme is played is: Moby - The Sky Is Broken. It also features prominently throughout the episode.

  • Season 7 Episode 16: Chimera

  • When the sheriff goes to visit Jenny in the hotel room, he gets up in the middle of the night. In spite of the room being murky you can see daylight coming in through the windows, the same daylight that is coming through the next morning when Jenny is being attacked by the chimera.

  • Even with Easter Sunday at its latest, you would not see blooming roses, fully green trees, and other blooming flowers in Vermont at that time of year. In most cases, foliage would just be budding out and in some cases there might even still be significant snow on the ground.

  • There is much made of ravens in the episode, but from the look of it, the birds used weren't actually ravens. The common raven is a very large bird - up to almost 30 inches in length at maturity. They also have little 'beards' of feathers. These look more like crows, which belong to the same family.

  • Season 7 Episode 15: En Ami

  • The title of this episode seems to either be meaningless or be spelled wrongly. En Ami is french for: in friend. Relating to this episode they either meant: Entre Amis = Among Friends or En Amitié = In Friendship. Which would both suit the context.

Despite the oddity of the title in French, it creates a cross-language pun: While the title might be pronounced as the English word "enemy", the French version implies "friend".

Correction: Actually, "En Ami" makes perfect sense in French, there is no direct translation, but it would mean something along the lines of "as a friend".

  • On the correspondence that Mulder receives, his email address is shown as ''. On the emails that Scully receives, her email is shown as ''

  • Season 7 Episode 14: Theef

  • Goof: When Peattie is in the break room he's having a lot of trouble operating the vending machine and failing to realize his poppin' corn needs to be microwaved. A med student just tells him to use the microwave to get his popcorn. Peattie then rants on like he's heard of it but has never used one before. But then he simply presses the correct POWER and TIME buttons, without any further instructions.

  • Season 7 Episode 13: First Person Shooter

  • At the end of the show, we see that the elevator is at the opposite end of the staircase, and the staircase is apparently the only entrance to the game platform. Does this mean that Scully and Mulder walked through the game platform (when it was operating) before they got into the elevator?

  • When Maitreya first creates doubles of herself Mulder drops his sword, but when Scully enters the game he has the sword in his hand again.

  • Season 7 Episode 12: X-COPS

  • When Deputy Wetzel is cutting the crime seal at the crack house, the wording on the seal says Los Angeles Sheriff's Department. This is incorrect. The actual name is the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

  • When Mulder is trying to break up the fight between Steve and Edy, he sits down and says "Let's all relax." During this scene, David Duchovny starts to laugh but manages to regain his composure and finish the scene.

  • When Mulder says something like "We have to find this Chantara," you can tell he starts to mess up his line and begins to laugh.

  • Season 7 Episode 11: Closure (2)

  • When Mulder, Scully and Harold get out of the car to visit Artubus Ray, you can distinctly hear 4 car doors close, when only 3 door are actually closed.

  • Goof: When the children are discovered in the mass grave the bodies are encased in plastic. This should have preserved the biological stew that was their former bodies but all the bones are dry. It would have been more logical just to have them buried in the ground without plastic.

  • Season 7 Episode 10: Sein und Zeit (1)

  • When speaking to Skinner and the task force, Mulder cites the discrepancy between the facts and what Mr. LaPierre said - that he was going to bed, but when cops got there the TV was still on. However, in the beginning of the episode we see that Mr. LaPierre does indeed turn off the TV before getting up to check on his wife and daughter.

  • Season 7 Episode 9: Signs and Wonders

  • Just after Mulder says: "especially because rattlesnakes tend to hibernate in winter" - during the first scene in the office after the intro. You can hear Gillian Anderson slip into an English accent, when she says: "so you think that Mr Chirp was murdered?" And then right back into an American for her next line.
