Episode Summary

Ep. #9008
Nick discovers a bug at the tackhouse and realizes that the police is listening in on the family's conversation. Phyllis starts faking conversations while Nick goes to warn Nikki. Sharon tries to spend more time with Jack, but he can't commit. Frank is confused as to why Adam's partner won't ever meet with him, so Adam puts Jack on the phone. Jack continues making silly excuses for his absence, until Frank asks him to meet him personally. Adam is worried when the publisher refuses to publish his article. Jack tries to convince him that it's all okay, but Adam suspects Jack might be doing something behind his back. Jack reminds Adam that he is also involved because Frank has his voice taped. Heather tells the police officers that there might be a chance the Newmans realized they were bugged. Nikki informs Victoria that the ranch is bugged. Victor goes to confession. Jill learns that Kay canceled her doctor's appointment, so she convinces her to go again, but Kay is sidetracked by a phone call from an old friend. She goes alone to a bar where she finds her double, Marge, drinking.moreless

  • Bugged.

In a mostly Newman-oriented episode, I enjoyed almost every scene. Sure, it wasn't anything too special, but the fact that the writers came up with those bugs was great. It makes me realize that they are more invested in the storyline than I originally thought. When Braeden finally returns full-time (because these one-minute appearances don't do) I can't wait to see where the story will go. It's been almost a month since Ashley's appearance and I can't wait (yet again) to see her on screen regularly.

Stafford did great while trying to pretend she's enjoying her time with Nick for the bugs. I liked it that Sharon and Victoria shared a scene together alone, and then we had that short Phyllis and Jack encounter. They should mix people more, in my opinion. Kay and Jill were also okay, but what came out as the most interesting thing is when Kay went to meet Marge. I hope the writers cooked up a great story for this return. Also, the Adam-Jack saga was written beautifully. Jack is trying to save himself in case his plan fails and he'll have poor brainless Adam to be the one to blame. This buried Adam even more, huh? I hope the eventually managed to salvage what's left of the character.moreless
