AIRED:
Gloria is surprised when Jeff insists on attending Katherine's will reading with her. Kay is demented from her accident as she continues trying to adapt in her "new" life while Murphy doesn't know who she really is. John's ghost gives advice to Billy, Traci, Ashley and Jack, all separately, as the family finally comes together. A crowd of people reunite at the Chancellor mansion, where Mitchell Sherman reads the contents of Kay's will, and it comes as a great surprise when Esther learns she got 50% of Kay's estate. She also leaves Daniel and Amber money to finance their business, a few shares to Danny, Gina and Brock, Jill gets the remainder of the estate, Nikki gets Kay's jewelry, and Gloria finally gets her wish when Kay leaves her 5% of Jabot stock. • "A pretty sharp old broad... for a drunk."

Wow, another episode that blew me away. I Y&R continues doing amazing episode like these I might just have a stroke one day. The writers deserve an Emmy for this, and there is definitely a set of actors that deserve awards for their performances, starting with the wonderful Jeanne Cooper. The storyline is going in the exact place where I want it to go. The only thing that bothers me is the fact that Murphy doesn't know who Katherine Chancellor is... how can that be? He knows who Victor Newman is, yet he never heard of Kay, who is the reason why Victor came to Genoa City anyway. They really didn't do well with covering that up, but I guess I shouldn't nitpick. The story is just amazing.

It was also great to have John talking to his kids in their minds and giving them advice. These scenes also make it quite clear that Lynnie made a huge mistake by killing off John. That's called bad writing. She did a lot of that, hasn't she? Just thinking of her regime makes my head hurt, especially after seeing a wonderful episode like this. She wouldn't know how to write that.

And of course, the most amazing part was the will reading. I'm just sad it's Nina's final episode. They should consider snatching her up, there's a lot of storyline potential there. Gloria and Jeff finally got their stock which is exactly what I was waiting for. All Hell will break loose. The storylines are taking a huge turn to sheer brilliance and the future suddenly looks amazing I can't wait to see what's next. Also, I loved that Esther got half of Katherine's house.moreless

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • If Murphy knows that Victor Newman is a billionaire from Genoa City, how doesn't he know Katherine Chancellor or the details of her death and similarity with Marge?

  • QUOTES (3)

    • Gloria: Guess what Katherine left me in her will.
Jack: Uh... an antique umbrella stand.

    • Jeff: We better get a move on if we don't wanna be late.
Gloria: What do you mean "We"? You're coming?
Jeff: Yeah. Are you kidding? Even if all you get is an ashtray, this oughta be one hell of a show.

    • Gloria: But what if all Katherine leaves me to remember her by is a swift kick in the you-know-what. I mean, the last time I saw her, she was calling me out for trying to cheat her on her stock.
Jeff: Yeah, she was a pretty sharp old broad... for a drunk.
      Gloria: Oh!
Jeff: May she rest in peace.
