It's with sadness that I report Young Indiana Jones actress Margaret Tyzack has died following a short illness of cancer. Margaret Tyzack begin her career in theatre acting alongside actresses such as Helen Mirren and Dame Maggie Smith as well as taking over from Joan Plowright in a revival of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? Of course Plowright is the widow of famous stage actor Lawrence Olivier, a title of a best actress award she would many years later be given in 2009. She is most remembered for her British television roles in series such as The Forsyte Saga and I, Claudius while also having small parts in Stanley Kubrick's films 2001: A Space Odyssey and A Clockwork Orange. But for Indiana Jones fans she is most remembered for the role of Young Indy's strict teacher/nanny Miss Helen Seymour in The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles appearing with Corey Carrier and once with Sean Patrick Flanery. Recently she had been began appearing in popular British soap Eastenders but was forced to quit due to her illness. The part was recast.
According to The Daily Mail newspaper Tyzack faced her illness with "the strength, courage, dignity and even humour with which she lived her life." This editor passes his condolences to her family as Margaret Tyzack will be missed. Rest in Peace.
