FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (5)

    • When Mike says 'I'm depressed, it's nine below zero," look at the left of the screen and you'll see a pair of legs walk on screen.

    • Band: Nine Below Zero (Playing in the living room) The track is called Eleven plus eleven and is on their album Third Degree.

    • Revealing : On the door that joins the kitchen and the hallway, there are two tall panels. They are both different colors - this is because one of them is made from a different material so that Vyvyan can punch his hand through it later when he is smashing up the house.

    • Revealing : When Rik is watching 'Nozin' Aroun'' on TV, he dislikes the program and smashed the TV with his foot. If you freeze-frame it, you can still see the image of the show on the TV, even though the TV is smashed. This means the CGI people didn't take the image off the green screen quick enough. Also, a few seconds later when Rik is talking to Mike, there are spikes of the screen remaining around the edge of the TV. However, they are green - the remains of the green screen.

    • Rick says that "Nozin Aroun'" is his favorite show, but it's supposed to be a new show that wasn't on air until now.

  • QUOTES (3)

    • (Rik's second poem)
      Rik: Neil.
      What are you doing, Neil.
      To make a meal, Neil.
      From totalitarian vegetables.
How much does it cost Neil?
      Neil: About £4.50. Each
      Rik & Mike: £4.50?!?!
Rik: I'm not paying that much to eat black people!

    • Rik: Neil, are these lentils South African?
      Neil: Uhh.. Well you see...
Rik: You Bastard! You Complete And Utter Bastard! Why Don't You Just Become a Policeman!

    • Rik: I think Special Patrol Group is a stupid name for a hamster
Vyv: Ok I'll change it then. Hello Cliff Richard!
      Rik: BASTARD!

  • NOTES (6)

    • Peter Richardson was supposed to play the part of Mike but due to an argument with the producer Paul Jackson he left the project and Christopher Ryan was cast. Paul Jackson said in an interview "I handled that wrong. I mean I was a kid and it was the first thing I'd ever done. On the other hand it didn't need to be as longer row as it was."

    • Rik writes three poems in this episode called 'Cliff,' 'Neil' and 'House'.

    • Vyv's hamster is known as SPG with the exception of the episode where Vyv calls it Cliff Richard.

    • First appearance of Vyv's hamster.

    • The words to the song for the opening credits are

      # Once in every lifetime
      Comes a love like this
So I need you, you need me
Oh my darling can't you see#

      #The young ones
      Darling we're the young ones
      The young ones
      (Rick) Shouldn't be afraid
      To live, love
There's a song to be sung
For we may not be the young ones very long!#

The last lines are repeated 4 or 5 times on this episode only.

    • In the scene where Rick shushes everyone before watching "Nozin' Aroun'," another hippie (not Neil) can be seen slumped over along the wall. This visual gag is repeated in a few other episodes as well.
