The Young People's Concerts is a series of family oriented classical music performances by the New York Philharmonic. The series also includes lessons in music for the younger viewers. Prior to being televised, The Young People's Concerts were held during matinee sessions. In 1958, Leonard Bernstein brought the series to a wider audience through television. Education episodes include "What Does Music Mean," "Humor in Music" and "What is Impressionism." Classic performances include the works of Igor Stravinsky, Aaron Copeland and Richard Strauss.
