I've seen a few episodes from its network run, and in syndication, and I remember my dad used to like it. There aren't that many shows like this, about a guy just living on the road without running to or from anything, enjoying the scenery and occassionally getting involved with people and even leaving an impact on their lives. Most of us at one time or another would like to live like this, but most of us also have obligations, to family, or to a job or both. Those of us who are tied down can live out our dreams by watching shows like this, and Route 66 too. Trouble is, they're both hard to find, and I doubt that either will be released on DVD any time soon, but I hope I'm wrong.
