  • Bronson meets up with isadore Katz, his new York Jewish alter ego

This episode is absolute perfection, a gem, and not to be missed. I was nervous when i saw in the credits that it was going to have Bronson meeting up with a Jew, but y fears were quickly allayed. Though Izzy katz is in many ways a cliched New York Jew, the portrayal is sweet, sincere, and honest: david Burns gives one of the best gues performances in the entire series. and as Bornson and Katz spend time together, we realize that in his way Katz is Bronson, if Bronson was a middle-aged new York Jew. neither has anywhere to go or anything in particular to do. Granted bronson hit the road after a friend's suicide, while Katz set off when he realized he could have heartburn anywhere, but both are decent men anxious and willing to meet others on their own terms. And like Bornson, Katz meets a woman and leaves her behind. This is one to be watched over and over again.moreless
