Carlos: I cannot believe Doc did this. I don't mean that as a dis on you, I mean dumping me like he did.
Taylor: He needs to work with Kim.
Carlos: Why can't you work with Kim?
Taylor: Carlos, this is not my choice.
Davis: A day off.
Sully: Yeah. I don't even remember what that feels like.
Davis: Feels kinda strange, like I shouldn't be takin' it.
Faith (about the people still showing support for them): It's amazing, huh?
Bosco: Ten days later, they're still here. I figured it'd last for a day or two, it's incredible.
Faith: Maybe everything has changed.
Faith: Bosco's gonna be here in like 15 minutes.
Fred: So you're okay now?
Faith: No, I'm late now!
Fred: But you're up.
Fred: How much longer are these 12 hour shifts gonna be?
Yokas: I don't know. They didn't say.
Fred: The kids miss you. Emily especially.
Lt. Johnson: I was studying for the captain's test. I thought I might pass it this time.
Jimmy: You'd make a great captain.
Lt. Johnson: They'd assign me to another house. I want to stay here now.
Catherine: I didn't know you were back on the payroll with the department.
Kim: I'm not.
Catherine: You mean you're going down there every night and you don't have to?
Kim: Lots of people are volunteering.
Catherine: Lots of people haven't been through what you've been through.
Kim: No, they've been through much worse.
Catherine: Jimmys been workin' every day, then goin' down there every night. Which means he isn't seeing that much of Joey.
Kim: I'll stop by this afternoon.
Catherine: ... Look, if you want to do something to help, go back to work... and help the living instead of digging through that tragic pile of rubble every night.
Sully (to Sergi): I was sleeping until your concert.
Tatiana: You got up?
Sully: I didn't want to miss the party.
Davis (seeing Bosco and Faith in their formal uniforms): Who?
Faith: Tommy Battiglia. We were at the academy with him.
Bosco (about his formal uni): I remember when I only wore this thing for parades.
Davis (sighs): I feel like I haven't left this place in weeks, man.
Bosco: That's 'cause you haven't.
Faith: I have no idea what my kids have been up to.
Bosco: No news is probably good news.
Faith: Fred's been amazing. He does everything now. All I have to do is... get out of bed and come to work.
Bosco: That's good, 'cause that's all we been doin'. I wonder which barricade we'll be guarding today. I just wanna be a cop again.
Davis: The mayor asked the governor to send in the National Guard, take over the checkpoints downtown.
Faith: That's great. A bunch of kids in camoflauge with M-16's flung over their shoulders. (to Sully) Hey.
Sully: Hey.
Davis: You get any rest?
Sully: Not much.
Davis: Yeah, me neither.
Sully: Oh yeah, you got a Ukrainian carnival at your house too?
Carlos (about people thanking them): You know, I can't get used to this.
Doc: Yeah, I guess it's nice. People showing their apperciation.
Carlos: They wanna show their apperciation, they could start by paying us more.
Doc: I think that's more like a city hall thing.
Carlos: Guy can make a million dollars in one day on Wall Street. You don't see him running into a burning building for $35,000 a year. Vote for a bond measure to up our salaries and leave the signs at home.
Faith: Charlie's been having nightmares. He wants me to quit. He thinks that I should be doing something else. He brings it up everytime that I see him.
Bosco: Aw, hell, who could blame 'em? I'm thinking about quitting and doing something else.
Faith: Really?
Bosco: You haven't thought about it? After all this?
Faith: Yeah... So, are you?
Bosco: And let that skinny little bearded bastard think he beat me? Hell no. Give me a parachute and a pistol and drop me in there. I'll shoot him in the head myself.
Davis (about Taylor): Is she all right?
Jimmy: Her father's a chief, still missing.
Walsh (about Taylor): She going back down there tonight?
Lombardo: Yep.
Walsh: You think that's a good idea?
Jimmy: You tell her she can't.
Sully: Well, we'll see you guys day after tomorrow.
Faith: Lucky bastards.
Davis: We'll be here when you're off.
Faith: Yeah, if Christopher ever gives us one!
Bosco: I feel like we aren't doing our job.
Faith: No?
Bosco: No. There's been a crime committed and we aren't doing anything about it. Can't do anything about it 'cause there's no one to catch.
Faith: Well, there's no one we can catch.
Bosco: Same thing.
Faith: You alright?
Bosco: I'm fine.
Faith: Are you sure?
Bosco: Yeah, I'm fine.
Faith: You wanna come over for dinner? Fred and the kids would love to see 'ya.
Bosco: No, they wouldn't.
Faith: They'll get over it.
Bosco: I'm okay. Alright? Thanks.
Faith: You goin' back down?
Bosco: Yep.
Faith: Get some sleep, Bosco.
Bosco: You, too.
Davis: Hey.
Taylor: Hey. You lost?
Davis: Yeah, can you, uh, tell me where to heroes are? I heard they were here.
Taylor: Only if you brought a casserole.
Davis: Oh, you don't want anything I cooked.
Taylor: Same here.
Davis: What's this?
Taylor: All that's left of our engine. (sets down the toy fire truck) I had one just like it when I was a kid. All the other girls had Barbies, I had a fire truck.
Davis: Yeah, all mine were police cars.
Davis: You know, my father died in the line. Um...
Taylor: Oh, he's missing. We haven't found him yet.
Davis: Oh, right. Sorry, I didn't--
Taylor: No, I mean, I know there's not much hope. But, you don't know him, he's ... strong.
Davis: I'm gonna get going. You know where to find me if you wanna talk or hang out, or... exchange recipes.
Davis: Why you didn't eat before the shift?
Sully: There's no food in my refrigerator. Davis, they are the fish sticks that have been frozen into the permafrost of my freezer for the last three years.
Davis: So, they're all still there?
Sully: Yeah. I'm spending 300 dollars a week on food, and I'm ordering take out every night.
Davis: It seems to me this problem can be easily solved. Marry her.
Sully: Where the hell am I supposed to find the time to go and do that?
Davis: You got the license already, right?
Sully: Yeah.
Davis: So, in your 50 years on the job you haven't made friends with some judge that can help you out? Just take her down to city hall.
Sully: 21 years.
Sully: 20 years in here I can't get a free refill on a cup of coffee, now I can't pay for my own sandwich.
Davis: Oh, you'll pay for it. (taps Sully's stomach)
Doc: Kim's coming back to work.
Carlos: Really?
Doc: I want her to work with me. I need to keep an eye on her.
Carlos: What am I supposed to do?
Doc: Well, Johnson wants Taylor a medic again. Just for a little while, get her off the squad.
Carlos: Alex Taylor?
Doc: Yeah, she's wrung out, man. I mean, with all that's happened, and with her father.
Carlos: We're all beat, so what? I'm supposed to carry her load?
Doc: Come on, man, she's good. She wouldn't let you carry her load even if you wanted her to.
Carlos: Wh- What's this about? You just wanna get away from me?
Doc: No.
Carlos: Two years, and then you just dump me off the bus?
Doc: I'm not dumping you. Kim's been off, she needs help. I'm senior guy, she's gonna ride with me for a while and that's it.
Carlos: Thanks a lot.
Yokas: I don't think I'll ever get used to it.
Bosco: What?
Yokas: The downtown skyline. You think it'll ever be normal again, Bos?
Bosco: What's normal?
Yokas: The way it was.
Bosco: No.
Taylor: Doc? She's crowning.
Kim: What?
Carlos: Are you serious?
Taylor: I'm not joking about this.
DK: Any one else gettin' sick of this hero crap?
Walsh: You know my neighbor's starting to cut my lawn now? I didn't ask him to, he just started doing it.
Lombardo: Send him to my place.
Carlos: How's he feel about painting?
Walsh: I don't know, his place looks like crap.
Lombardo: What about plumbing? I got a stopped toilet for about a week now.
Jimmy: You do the same damn thing here, man.
Walsh: What the hell do you eat, man?
Lombardo: Your cooking.
Jimmy: Now that makes you a hero.
Walsh: Kiss my ass.
Carlos: I'll make the beans.
Doc: Yeah, here. But not too much brown sugar this time, okay? It's not a dessert item.
Lt. Johnson (to the people in the neighborhood): Thank you.
Faith: Thanks.
Fred: For what?
Faith: Taking care of the kids and everything. You've been amazing.
Fred: I've been worried about you.
Faith: I'm fine.
Fred: You sure?
Faith: I'm alive.
