I hope they get all of the original music for the show too. I mean, fans have waited long enough for this show. Now if they'd only put the Third Watch Season 3 crossover episode on the Season 8 ER set...

YAY I read a few weeks ago that i might but i didnt want to get to hopeful.

Edit: I wonder why they only put Jimmy, Kim and Bobby on the front of the box. Seems like they would have put the whole cast. Maybe thats just a first copy and the actual box will have everyone.

well kim has been on a few shows recently including 24 and bobby was in shall we dance with richard gere so it might be a way to garner more sales based off most recent appearances. or just a way to use less pictures so they dont have to reuse them on future sets.

I was just on tvguide.com and saw that they had Third Watch listed as the Hot Pre-Order in their DVD picks section.

Im a bit confused about this

Here in Oz, Third Watch had an official WB release (R4 Pal) over 12 months ago it seems. I bought it then, and have enjoyed it a couple of times throo since. Now i log on to get the rest of the show, and find that S1 hasn't yet been released in the US? How is this possible?

I assure you the R4 release is legit and official. Same cover as the proposed R1 as well. So whats the story?

If I had to guess, it probably has to do with music rights. I know I've heard of a lot of DVD sets here in the US that have been delayed over music rights - or have had the change the music used in the show, because they can't/won't pay what the rights holder is demanding. As I understand it, however, in most cases, its normal for a song's rights to be held by different companies in different countries, and that getting rights for America (R1) can sometimes be very difficult. So, to me, it sounds like the DVD publishing companies were able to get rights to use the songs in Australia long before they could get the rights to use it in the US. Of course, the whole "music rights" issue has been around for several years now, so hopefully the music rights for the DVDs are being negotiated at the time the song is selected for the show, and not years after the fact. I mean, yeesh, if "Cold Case" hasn't been arranging to be sure that they can use the music rights for the eventual DVD sets, I doubt we'll ever see it in sets. At least I hope not - changing the music for those episodes would be a real problem.

Paid $44, but it was worth it! Here are the problems however...

    1. Slim Packs. Why slim packs?! Why can't they give them the cool digipacks that almost all their other shows get?!

    2. The box is a little flimsy and IMO feels like cardboard.

    3. There is no artwork on the slim packs. Each side displays the episodes and a small caption for the episodes on each disc.

That's about it! I haven't seen like any of the first season so I am super excited right now!

I paid $30 and I actually like the slim packs in case I want to take one somewhere it doesnt take up as much room. I wish there was more artwork and an episode guide thing with a description of each episode. I havent had a chance to watch any of the episodes yet though. Hope they are all in their original uncut form.

I had to wait to get mine. They were a Valentine's Day gift, but the BF left them on the table and I saw them. YEAH!
