  • QUOTES (7)

    • Fred: Your mother lives in a violent world, we need to make this home a place of safety for her.

    • Chevchenko: All the same. American police, Russian police, Interpol police, FBI all the same. Officer Sullivan wants money.

    • Faith(about Fred): I'm glad he's home.
Bosco: I'll bet. You won't have to vacuum anymore.
Faith: What the hell is that supposed to mean?

    • Faith: You know that's Theodore Chevchenko.
Bosco: So what we gonna do about it?
      Faith: We?
Bosco: Kills the wife of a New York City cop and we aren't retaliating!

    • Sully: It doesn't matter that we didn't pull the trigger. This was us, we did this.

    • Bosco: Sully ought to put a couple of bullets up his ass!

    • Fred: I know. She's always had a couple extra jobs, extra security jobs. She got paid more than I could for a part time job so…it was always cash under the table. She did off-duty security at the pharmacy down the corner, she was also the record store police and the hamburger place police. Any place that ever had any trouble your mother worked their one time or another. Sometimes she'd just go from one to the other, stop home only long enough to catch a shower. And here we sit with our televisions and our DVDs and our CD players and our cell phones, our clothes and our food, I can't believe she'd do that to us!
Emily: We need her here too.
Fred: She's only one person, Em.

  • NOTES (1)

  • ALLUSIONS (2)

    • Fred: (About the Bible) So much of it's still relevant today, it's hard to believe its thousands of years old.
Fred is in awe at the Bible, one of the oldest pieces of literature in the world and also most international.

    • Chevchenko: They will want er, how do you say in the movies - a lynching.

The Russian Chevchenko clearly watches the American genre - the Western. A lynching is to execute or punish violently by a mob, without trial and in the movies it usually meant a hanging.
