{to Yokas about Jeffrey}
Miller: Of course, I could just break one finger at a time until he tells us.
Miller: Go talk to him.
Yokas: Me?
Miller: Yeah. Yeah, you.
Yokas: No. I've never interrogated a prisoner before.
Miller: You're what we have. Jelly's busy with the Finney shooting and if I go in there, I might kill him, which…would leave us with nothing.
Jeffrey: Bring Miller in here. C'mon. Let's go.
Yokas: Oh, he's busy.
Jeffrey: He's busy? Doing what?
Yokas: Police work.
Jeffrey: All right, so Miller is supervising you.
Yokas: No. We're working together.
Jeffrey: Uh, huh, right. Miller does not work with anyone.
Jeffrey: Miller is the best of the best. "The world's greatest detectives," right?
Jeffrey: Do you know that he visits her grave?
Yokas: Who?
Jeffrey: Miller. He visits Rebecca's grave. Sometimes he'll just go there and he'll sit all by himself.
{Miller walks in}
Jeffrey: Oh, look who's not so busy anymore.
Jeffrey: Good cop, bad cop. Nicely done.
Yokas: Look, neither one of us feels much like playing good cop, so don't push your luck.
Jeffrey: Hey, Lieutenant Miller? You shouldn't feel ashamed about going to Rebecca's grave. I visit her, too. I visit all of 'em. Do you ask her to forgive you, too?
Miller: What do I have to be forgiven for?
Jeffrey: Well, you couldn't stop me.
Miller: Smile, jag-off.
{Miller takes Jeffrey's picture}
Miller: You're under arrest for the murder of Rebecca Hatfield. Get up. Take everything out of your pockets and remove any jewelry.
Jeffrey: Okay, see, sweetheart, this is called procedure.
Yokas: You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to have an attorney present during any questioning.
Yokas: Do you understand your rights?
Jeffrey: Yes, ma'am.
Yokas: Do you wish to answer any questions?
Jeffrey: Some.
Miller: {picking up Jeffrey's keys} What are these to?
Jeffrey: Oh, geez, see, that's one I don't want to answer.
Jeffrey: Hey, where are you going?
Miller: I'm a lieutenant of police. I don't have time for games.
Jeffrey: This is not a game!
Finney: Why do I have to go to the hospital?
Davis: It's trauma. Procedure.
Finney: Well, what if I'm not traumatized?
Davis: I wouldn't tell anybody that, okay? You don't wanna give the impression that you can just take a life without conscience.
Dr. Fields: …you're gonna be all right.
Carlos: I told you, I'm a pro. I get hit in the head all the time.
Dr. Fields: You do?
Carlos: Umm…yeah?
Carlos: You said I was gonna be okay.
Dr. Fields: Repeated head trauma's serious.
Carlos: I don't get hit all the time. I exaggerate, a lot.
Levine: Carlos!
Carlos: Oh, no.
Levine: Oh my God. Oh my God. I just heard. Are you all right? Oh my God, you could've been killed.
Carlos: I…should be so lucky.
Jeffrey: I want what I've always wanted. I want to be stopped.
Yokas: You could've stopped at any time.
Jeffrey: I have no more control over this than you do over the fact that you have to go to the bathroom right now. That's like your eighth cup of coffee. I know that women have notoriously small bladders.
Yokas: I can hold it.
{to Finney}
Capt. Finney: Took out a guy with a gun to a hostage's head. If that's not Medal of Honor, I don't know what is. I'm damn proud of you, son. Damn proud. Outstanding work.
Davis: We were just telling him how there's no shame in seeing a counselor after a trauma like this.
Capt. Finney: don't be ridiculous. This young man's been waiting for this moment since he could walk.
Finney: Told you I was good, Davis. I don't want to see any damn shrink.
Davis: Right. My bad.
{about the IAB investigation into the shooting}
Davis: Impartial and objective, my ass.
{to Swersky about Finney}
Davis: He just killed a guy, boss. That's not easy. You know that. On the way over here he was…I don't know. He was different. It was like a light went out or something.
Jeffrey: Detective Yokas? You know it's…it's not healthy to hold all that inside.
Yokas: What?
Jeffrey: Just make sure you go to the bathroom.
{to Swersky about Jeffrey}
Yokas: I have never wanted to hurt somebody so bad.
{at the hospital}
Carlos: I gotta spend the night.
Davis: Got you in the head again.
Finney: What happened?
Grace: Like you, nothing I want to remember. Good night.
Finney: Grace, wait. Now, look, are you all right?
Grace: It was 15 minutes in a bathroom, Finney. Get over yourself.
Jeffrey: You know, when I got here, I was really angry. But now I'm just very disappointed. I expected a lot more from you people. I was in Dubuque, Iowa. And I saw this documentary on your little Son of Sam and the detective being interviewed was sitting underneath that big banner "the greatest detectives in the world." And that's why I came here. That's why I came to New York.
Monroe: I just finished a DUI. The guy blew a .39.
Davis: Damn.
Monroe: That's almost comatose.
Davis: You drink long enough, your tolerance goes up.
Monroe: Well, then he's been drinking since the 50s.
Davis: You know, Carlos is in the hospital. Got hit in the head again.
Monroe: Oh, that's been happening a lot lately.
Yokas: This is a game to you.
Jeffrey: Yeah, life and death. The ultimate game.
Jeffrey: I didn't want this from you! I came here to be stopped! I wanted Miller to stop me! The best of the best!
Yokas: You don't want to be stopped, Jeffrey! You think this is a game! And in a half an hour, all you will have done is hurt someone who is weaker than you! And if that somehow makes you feel important, then God…God help you.
{to Monroe, after finding the picture of the knife}
Davis: You know, I like you and everything, but, uh, you have a strange idea of what makes a good souvenir.
Davis: That's not exactly a memento I would've chosen.
Monroe: It isn't.
Davis: It's the knife we were almost killed with. I'd think that's something you'd wanna forget. I didn't even know there was a picture of it. Last time I saw it was in the hospital. Cruz had it.
Miller: You think I didn't try?
Jeffrey: I expected something better from you.
Miller: Oh. Yeah, well, maybe I expected a little bit more from myself.
Miller: You know, when I came in here…I was gonna kill you.
Jeffrey: Oooh.
{to Miller}
Jeffrey: See…I kinda feel like you and me are very much alike. We're both very driven men.
{to Jeffrey}
Miller: You and I…are nothing alike. You rat bastard, son of a bitch. After I bring her home alive…I'm gonna male you real sorry you ever came to New York.
{about Jeffrey}
Yokas: He's pretty pissed off for a guy that wanted to get caught.
Miller: He wanted to win.
Capt. Finney: Sergeant Cruz, you're under arrest for the murder of Donald Mann. Confiscate her weapon. Cuff her…Now get her out of here.
Sully (Skipp Suduth), Bosco (Jason Wiles) and Emily (Bonnie Dennison) do not appear in this episode
