Right after Sully shoots Manny, Ty kneels down in front of the R.M.P., the only emergency vehicle on the scene, but there are red and white lights flashing in Ty's face.
Sully: You forgive me?
Davis: Yeah, yeah, I forgive you.
Faith: This guy, this uh, buddy that Bosco's been seein', 'ya know? He's good?
Sully: O'Malley? The best. He's not into all that touchy feel crap either. He's got more of a tough-love approach.
Faith: You think that's what Bosco needs?
Sully: Well, he's not exactly warm and fuzzy.
Faith: No, but… you know, I got my husband at home, you got your wife, Bosco, who's he got, 'ya know?
Sully (to himself): My wife.
Faith: I'm sorry, Sully. I had no idea.
Sully: Nobody knows. I haven't told anyone.
Faith: Not even Davis?
Sully: No.
Faith: Well, how could she just disappear?
Sully: She's smart, she's hidin'. you know, I found myself driving around Brighton Beach all hours of the night. Popping in and out of bars and restaurants there just on the odd chance, you know?
Faith: Needle in a haystack.
Sully: I'll tell 'ya all these Russian joints you go in, they act like you're the foreigner.
Faith: I'll tell 'ya what, you've got a better chance of running into Chevchenko.
Sully: I just hope she's safe, wherever she is.
Yokas: You ever think you been a cop too long?
Sully: Everyday.
Father Moreno: John, you have to know that no one could see the end from where it began.
Sully (about Manual): If he'd only died when that fireman dropped him. He'd have gone out a hero, case closed.
Stram: Tonight's job was a simple reward.
Sully: Simple? A 40-year-old janitor shot you with your own gun and his wife kicked your ass.
Bosco: So, wait, how do you like the job?
Stram: Well, there's no dental but I make a 100 grand a year and I don't have to knock on doors like you guys do.
Bosco: Wait, you make a 100 thousand a year?
Stram: Yeah. Look, I was a Denver patrol cop for 8 years. I get sick of having to prove some dirt bag raped a girl, beat up some kid, shot some old lady.
Sully: Yeah, that zany due process thing.
Stram: That process doesn't work, man.
Bosco: Sully, the guy was a badge. How'd you get started?
Stram: Took a course in Vegas. Got licensed. What I liked was having the freedom of not having to bend over to assure the rights of lowlifes. I don't need a warrant, or probable cause. And anyone I got after has already been arrested by a peace officer and they feel stone-guilty enough to run. I bag 'em, no questions asked. It's beautiful and it's legal.
Sully: The only person shootin' it start with me that whole time, was the guy I trusted the least.
Father Moreno: The bounty hunter.
Sully: At least I knew what he wanted.
Father Moreno: Candor doesn't mean virtue.
Sully: You should have told me where he was.
Father Moreno: Maybe.
Sully: You should've told me!
Father Moreno: Maybe.
Sully: I was trying to help him and instead I killed him.
Sully (about why he is looking for Manuel): I'm here because I don't want everything he's done to go to waste.
Stram: Why the soft spot for this guy? Huh? You're a badge.
Sully: I don't know. I think I'm rooting for Valez simply because I can't stand you.
Stram: Hey, Sullivan... (whispers) I'll race you to him.
Sully: A good person… that's who you think I am?
Father Moreno: I've known you for sometime, John.
Sully: You don't know me. I used to come to your church sometimes, buy a book a raffle tickets twice a year.
Father Moreno: It was more than that.
Sully: And from that, you think you know who I am? You have no idea what I'm capable of.
Father Moreno: You have dedicated your life to righting wrongs, protecting people.
Sully: You ever listen to yourself? What I dedicated myself to, what I tried to do. Who gives a damn about any of that? What matters are results. What happened. How it ended.
Sully: Tell me something Today we came across a little girl; six, seven years old. Who somebody had killed and put into a cardboard box and left on the curb in the rain. Now, where was your God when she needed him?
Father Moreno: He created the lion and the lamb, the weal and the woe.
Sully: That's your answer? This somebody we're supposed to follow? Somebody for us to worship?
Father Moreno: Thos obstacles arise to strengthen our resolve. If you coast through life making no difference, no effort whatsoever, you know what happens, don't you?
Sully: Yeah, you live longer.
Father Moreno: Yeah, but only to realize maybe you haven't really lived at all.
Father Moreno: If we don't have crosses, if there are no trials, how are we to know how important what we have is?
Sully: Uh… I just wanted to um… I wanted to tell you how sorry I am about what happened.
Davis: I know. You said it already.
Sully: I wanted to make sure you heard it.
Davis: I did. I heard it.
Sully: And um… I wanted to make sure that you know that… I love you. Make sure you know that if anything ever happened to you, that I…
Davis: Yeah, well, I'm here, so…
Sully: God.
Davis: Yeah, I feel the same way, so…
Sully: Yeah?
Davis: Yeah, I mean, I wasn't too happy with you after it all happened but… hey, you know, partners, right?
Sully: Partners.
Davis: I mean, we're brothers, so… (Sully and Davis hug)I mean, you're like a much, much older brother.
