  • The last episode televised in RWS format.....

Why does the Awdry era end just like that with just 4 seasons produced in RWS format? If only Britt stuck with the originality to Season 5 and Thomas and the Magic Railroad, she wouldn't have gotten fired by the Board of Directors. I mean come on, sure Awdry said that Season 3 was the worst part, but not all the episodes were screwed up (at least Trust Thomas, Percy's Promise, and Thomas Gets Bumped were bad examples). Overall, this has been an even amount of episodes made through 4 seasons of Reverand's and Christopher's work. Well done R.W. Awdry and Well done Christopher Awdry!!!!!!moreless
  • Bike bother

Percy and Thomas work with the mail trains day and night with help by Tom Tipper, the postman who helps them deliver mail in his trusty van. But one day, Percy arrives at Callan Station to find another man there who looks grumpy, and they see he has a bike! The next day, Tom is back but tells Percy that they got ride of the van over his sickness. Percy feels sorry for him, but as Tom leaves, he is called back to sign papers. He leaves his back against a mail van and as Percy leaves... CRUNCH! Everyone sees the broken bike and Percy is now sorrier! However, Tom is back the next day with a new van and Percy is much happier.

For a season finale, I didn't really like it. Firstly, it broke the tradition of Christmas episodes ending the season, so I disapprove of that. But, I did like Tom Tipper, who seems like quite a happy charecter to have. There was some really beautiful scenery here, espically in the opening scenes with the country roads and the seaside village, which looks like quite a good setting. Percy shouldn't have really had a lead role as he's had quite a few this season, but I'm glad that they got the mail train back on track. The cameos in this episode were well chosen for this area, espically the opening scene with Bertie and how it smoothly fitted in with Tom Tipper. Callan Station seems like such a nice station with it nestled on the other side of the yard and I can't remember if it's used anymore. Anyway, an okay episode to end this top seaonsmoreless
  • Tom Tipper!!!

Tom Tipper is a post man who delivers the mail all over the Island of Sodor in his red van, of course with the help of Thomas and Percy. But he has a setback when his van is taken away and he has to use a bike. The bike is destroyed and he gets a brand new van.

One of my favorite stories was Thomas, Percy, and the Mail Train, and this episode expanded on that one, but with a great new character. Also, this was George Carlin's last episode and I miss him very much. This was also the last story written by the Awdrys. Anyway, this was an excellent story, and I would like to see Tom Tipper again.moreless
