This is the first time Elizabeth meets the Narrow Gauge engines.
When Elizabeth pulls the sycamore tree off the bridge, the tree almost hits a workman!
When Elizabeth pulls the tree trunk off the line, Rheneas` eyes are looking two different ways.
At the beginning of the story, when Skarloey & Rheneas first go to work at the quarry, there was a scene that shows them happily working whilst Rusty stays in a siding in the background looking sad. The next scene concentrates on him and the narrator says "Rusty could see they were not happy." How can the two engines be upset if the last scene shows them jolly?
They're probably just trying to 'put on a good face' in a time of sadness.
Appearances by Rusty, Skarloey, Rheneas, Elizabeth and the Fat Controller.
Rheneas plays an important role in this episode, but he doesn't speak.
Cameo by Peter Sam.
A larger model of Elizabeth is used.
In America, this is the second title to have "Saves The Day" in it. The first was "Thomas Saves The Day" (Season 1).
