Episode Summary

A Maritime Museum is to be opened on Sodor, by an Admiral. When Thomas picks him up from Brendam Docks, Salty tells Thomas the story about long lost treasure belonging to pirates, and also gives the clues as to where it has been buried somewhere on the Island. Unfortunately for the Admiral, this means he will be late for the opening, as Thomas becomes simply enraptured by the idea and can't stop thinking about it for the whole journey! Most annoyed by distracted little Thomas terribly delaying the Admiral, the Fat Controller arranges for him to be transported by Harold the Helicopter instead. Despite this, Thomas decides he will find that treasure.moreless

  • Good episode, although it could star more of Harold.

Thomas is going to collect the Admiral for the opening of The Maritime Museum, and Salty tells hima story about a treasure. Emily and James laugh at Thomas for beliving in the story, but Thomas takes no notice. With the Admiral on board, he chuffs off to see the treasure. He finds the first clue - although Emily and James tease him! He finds the second clue and then the third, where Harold comes with The Fat Controller who says that he had to leave the Admiral with Harold. Thomas is upset, but when he gets to the Maritime Museum, he finds... The treasure! I think this episode was good, but Harold and Salty could feature more, anyway, I give it 7.6./10.moreless

A new maratime museum is slated to open on the Island of Sodor, and everyone is excited about it. Salty then tells a story about how to find some lost pirate treasure on the island, and Thomas goes off looking for it. He follows Salty's cryptic directions, and makes more sense of them as he goes along. Thomas eventually ends up meeting all the other engines and the admiral at the maratime museum. Amazingly, Thomas also realizes that the treasure is also there! The admiral himself digs it up, and makes it an exhibit in the museum.
Ah, a lovely nautical story. This is what life on an island is really all about. Once again, Salty tells an old story that shapes the plot of the entire episode. I enjoyed meeting the admiral for the first time, and the maratime museum was a great new attraction for the island. However, I thought that the way the other engines tease Thomas has become more and more redundant throughout the past few seasons. I think this would have been a perfect chance for Thomas to do something on his own, and that would have made for a really good episode. In spite of that, I was still impressed by the nautical nature of this episode, and I hope that more like it will be written.moreless
