  • This season's Thomas and Bertie

Thomas is very glad to have his branch line and espically likes to see the children. One day, he is busy talking to some new ones that Percy must point out it's time to go! The enxt day, Thomas arrives at the same station find out the school bus has broken down! He takes the children to Bertie, but is late to Knapford. The next day, melted tracks cause Thomas to have an accident and Bertie takes over. Thomas becomes increasingly jealous until The Fat Controller says he can go back to work, but has changed the timetable to let him work with Bertie more and the two friends are pleased.

This episode might not be the greatest, but it brings back memories from Season 1 and 2 with the classic Thomas and Bertie scuffle. And it's the first Britt-All(croft)written story and it was good for a first go.moreless
  • It really didn't make any sense...

I wonder why they call it "Thomas Gets Bumped," if he wasn't bumped in the first place? I would of called it "Thomas, Bertie, and the Branch Line." He was just on warped tracks, nothing to be punished for! The thing I like about this episode, though, is that Bertie and Thomas now work as partners on the Branch Line. Now everything runs better and more smoothly. There is a lot to this episode that got packed in 5 minutes that I can't remember on hand. It also makes me wonder why a whole lot of this episode was used in Thomas' Anthem...moreless
  • Start of a new era for the show.

The first episode that was not written by either the Rev. or Chris Awdry. Although it represented a drastic change for Thomas the Tank Engine, this was one of my favorite stories as a child. Thomas was worried that if he was ever late again, the Fat Controller would replace him with a more reliable engine. He then derails on his branch line, and Bertie takes Thomas' passengers while the damaged tracks are being repaired. Since Bertie does such a good job, the Fat Controller arranges for him to work with Thomas even more. So even though I think they should have stuck with the original books, I really enjoyed this story. Anyone agree?moreless
