Classic winter frolics on Sodor! The first winter episode is also one of the first ones I ever viewed, ad remains a favorite to this day. The essential plotline is that of a friendship being formed through rivalry, and accepting others even if they differ from yourself. The snowy landscapes and wonderful background music help to provide the crucial moods and tones. Terence is portrayed as being quite likeable, and puts up with Thomas' doubt and teasing. This is seemingly a veiled lesson in tolerance. It is very rare to find an episode (and a series, in general), that can mess moral lessons and action so flawlessly, as Thomas The Tank Engine.moreless

Thomas is going out one day with Annie and Clarabel, and he sees a new tractor plowing the feild. Thomas asks him, where his wheels are, and Terence tells Thomas that they are his caterpillers so he doesn`t need wheels. Thomas doesn`t care for Terence much, so when winter came, snow came, and Thomas had to go out, but he would really hate his snowplow. So he refuses to where it and he learns what Terence is really talented for, when Thomas gets stuck in th e snow and no one can get him out, except Terence the Tractor. I give this a 10.0 again, and I would call it a series classic.moreless

It's late autumn and Thomas is happily rushing along his branch when one day he meets a tractor called Terence, who explains about his caterpillar tracks. Thomas scoffs and leaves. When winter comes, the snow piles up and Thomas must wear his snowplough. He complains and damages it so he can't use it again. However, Thomas accidentally drives into a snowdrift. While he loses all hope, Thomas suddenly hears the sound of Terence! He quickly rescues Thomas, Annie and Clarabel and the three are grateful.

I love snow stories, and this is the first of many. This story is similar to the previous one, as Thomas dislikes snow now as well. Throw in a soppy scene and this story is perfect!moreless

It is autumn on the Island of Sodor. Thomas, pulling Annie and Clarabel, meets Terence the Tractor. Thomas says Terence's wheels are ugly. Terence explains that they are caterpillar tracks, and he can go "anywhere". Thomas puffs crossly away. Winter soon arrives, and Thomas has to wear his snowplough. He hates it, so he bangs and clangs it while he's working, and damages it so much that he can't wear it anymore. Thomas is delighted, and sets off the next day without it. But his pride is short-lived when he gets stuck in a snowdrift. Luckily, a bus picks up Thomas' passengers, and Terence comes to the rescue. Terence pulls Thomas out of the snowdrift. Thomas apologises, and they become friends.moreless

Autum had come to the Island of Sodor, and Thomas meets Terence, a tractor who worked on his branch line. Thomas thought Terence looked very strange and made fun of his caterpiller tracks. Soon winter came, snow was all over the Island of Sodor, Thomas wasn't too concerned about the snow, until he found out he had to wear his snowplough. When he did, he was very upset. It was so badly damaged he couldn't use it the next day, so he left without it. Little did he know there was a big snowdrift in the way and he got stuck and couldn't get out. Soon Thomas felt sad and started to cry, then Terrence and Bertie soon came to the rescue. Bertie took Thomas' passangers and Terrence pulled Annie and Clarabel out. Then Terence pulled Thomas out, and he learned that Terrence can be useful after all, and he should wear his snowplough when it snows.
This episode was great and included lots of changes, like characters on sodor that don't run on rails, and that the Island of Sodor does get snow. Better start calling the "Island of Snowdor" ;) Overall this episode was terrific and I really liked it a lot!moreless
