A Date with Destiny (2)
AIRED:
George says he used the card as a book marker. The book was given to Nora, who gave the book to Bess, who lent it to Elliot. The card is exactly where George left it 7 years ago. While Annie is shocked to learn that none of her relatives attended her graduation, and that she lost her virginity to a guy who used Steven's flowers as his own, Nora says she would have gone out with Steven again if she had read the card. Bess freaks out with the thought of her marriage with Steven being a destiny accident. She and Steven argue when they fell in love for each other. While Bess fell for him the moment she saw him, Steven's heart didn't beat any faster until one day, with a simple gesture, Bess picked up a pepper from the floor.moreless

      • Both parts were originally broadcast as a one-hour special, though they weren't originally scheduled that way. (Part 2 was formerly scheduled to air on November 13.) The guest cast is combined, although I was able to tell which gest appeared on what episode.

      • In the scene where Bess and Annie are talking in Annie's room, there's a My So-Called Life poster with Claire Danes hanging in Annie's wall. Of course, A.J. Langer (Annie) had a regular role in that show, and although My So-Called Life didn't debut until September 1994 (and they were in May 1994), it's a funny inside joke, much like they did with Vicki Lewis (Nora) and NewsRadio back in season 1 (see 1.12).
