  • A comic masterpiece that holds up over time.

Downhill Chaser is one of the classic episodes. Jack's desire to impress a beautiful skier easily outweighs his interest in being truthful. His stategy backfires when it's time to produce, but perhaps he can wiggle his way out of danger and still get the girl. No such luck, of course.

The supporting cast is brilliant. Inga is believably in the dark. With his phony broken leg, Larry plays the male chauvenist card to perfection. And Mr. Furley's vanity gets the best of him in the episode's funniest sequence--one that makes you laugh till you cry.

Every part adds up to a perfect whole. Nothing is wasted, and nothing falls flat. The characters shine. Truly one of the best episodes!moreless
