    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    FILTER BY TYPE

    • TRIVIA (3)

      • Goof: Though most of this episode, Kublai's outfit is mostly colored purple. But when Thundarr's group first arrives to defend the village from his robot soldiers, the pants portion of the wizard's outfit is colored beige.

      • Goof: One of the Moks that attacked Zogar in the tavern was pale-skinned. But in the closeup shot of the barbarian's breaking his wooden club, the Mok's hands and arms are a significantly darker skin tone.

      • Goof: Zogar's trident stops glowing just before Thundarr destroyed it. But that should have happened afterward.

    • QUOTES (4)

      • (When the group arrives at the village under attack by Kublai)
Thundarr: Listen. Sounds of destruction...and of humans in danger.
Ariel: We've got to go and help them. (seeing Thundarr and Ookla ride ahead of her) Guess they already knew that. (rides into action after them)

      • Kublai: Who is this barbarian? (To his android soldiers) Stop him! Attack!!
Thundarr: Send me all you metal warriors, wizard! (Rams away two of them) I'll gladly dispose of them for you!
Kublai: As you wish, barbarian! (To a couple more of the androids) Destroy him!!
(The two miss Thundarr with their laser rifles, then Ariel blasts them with a couple of magic bursts)
Ariel: You guys are no fun. You fall right over.

      • (Thundarr and Zogar intensely engaged in battle)
Zogar: My trident is the equal of your sunsword, Thundarr. I am stronger, faster, fiercer than you!
Thundarr: You are louder, Zogar. I give you that.
Zogar: Surrender, Thundarr. I might even let you live.
        Thundarr: A generous offer, but---NEVER!!!
(Ariel and Ookla standing by watching)
Ariel: Do you get the feeling we're being ignored? (Ookla growls in agreement)

      • Ariel: (Reading the fortune from Ookla's fortune cookie) Your melodious voice and sweet disposition are the envy of those around you. (Everybody laughs, except Ookla, who growls and smashes the table) If his disposition gets any sweeter, he'll wreck the whole building. (Everyone continues laughing)

    • NOTES (5)

      • This episode is set in the ruins of the Chinatown section of San Francisco, California.

      • Ariel may be of Asian heritage as in this episode, she seems to imply that her direct ancestors may have resided in a place like San Francisco's Chinatown.

      • Post-Apocalyptic Animal Species: Zogar's saber-toothed panther, which has bony spikes under its chin and a giant magic dragon conjured by Kablai.

      • Twice in this episode, when Thundarr activates his sunsword, it's seen from one's personal point of view as it seems to look like a huge spark with four points.

      • Kublai wanted the Golden Scepter of the Yantzee because it's the only thing that can remove his powers. But in the end, Thundarr was able to use it against him, making the wizard no longer a threat.
