This is one of my favorate episodes of the show because things get really dark. This was something that was a long time coming and it is finally out in the open. The good and evil brother rivalry has always been a common motif, usually it's because one brother has something the other doesn't or lacks.
I love how this episode had just emotional intensity you really could feel it. Tigra's character really could of gone either way because his character was one step close to entering the darkside. Tigra throughout his life has harbored a slight hatred for Lion O; while Tigra had to earn his keep in life, Lion O had most things simply handed to him. I'll admit I couldn't help but feel slightly sympathtic toward Tigra because he truely has been handed the short end of the stick, this made it all the more suspenseful because he really could of gone either way we really see him dive into his darkside and possibly stay there. It's not uncommon it happened to Anikin Skywalker in "Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith".
Really like that swordfight between the two, it was cool when we saw Tigra had a sword of Omens of his own which makes them evenly matched. Though the only disapointment was both weren't using the other abilities of the sword in that fight since in the 80's cartoon the sword did have more functions, like seeing them shoot lazers at each other and othere stuff; but then again Lion O hasn't learned the full extent of the sword yet nor has he collected all the jewels to hone in on it and Tigra just received the sword so it makes sense.
There was one profound moment when we see both the memory and what happens in the present where Lion O is trapped in the pit from when he was a child to now, here Tigra has his chance to destroy Lion O for good by leaving him to die. But just as he did as a child he doesn't when he was a kid he ran to his father for help and admited responsibility, Tigra in the present jumps down to help him. It just shows Tigra despite being a step into the darkside he can never cross it because he has a strong sense of honor, if he killed Lion O he'd never really be on the top end of the pyramid he probably would of lost respect from his father or even Chetara in the present. And also some love for his brother because he still cares about his well being.
The ending I liked I can't say I was completely supprised because I kinda saw it coming we then see Chetara talk with Tigra about who she choose and it was Tigra. I thought it was sweet and personally I did want it to happen because those two do have history together, even liked that passonate kiss. Though I did feel a little bad for Lion O, all I can say to that is, sorry kid it just wasn't in the cards.
But after all that happened it makes me wonder what will happen in the new season. Panthro will probably get cybornetic arms, that would be cool though what would be cooler is if those arms could do different things like convert to arm cannons or chainsaws. The dynamic with Lion O, Tigra, and Chetara will change in a way, but I think the relationship with Tigra and Chetara will develop more along the way. I don't wan't Lion O to be single too long I'm hoping he will have a significant other, not exactly sure who but I was thinking either Pumaria a charcter from Season 2 of the 80's version as long as they make her a cooler and better character cause in the 80's version she sucks. Or may'be Wila who was a supporting character for a while in Season 1 she was hot and had the persona to boot. I don't know just like their on going quest anything is possible. Well, till next time.
