Excalibur defeated the Sword of Omens by stabbing through the Eye of Thundera. This made the sword shrink and fall to the ground and the eye to disappear completely, leaving a solid red circle. Consequently, it made the Thundercat insignias worn on each Thundercat to go blank as well as the Thundercat symbol on Cats Lair. This weakened the Thundercats to the point they all collapsed.
Even though Mumm-Ra takes the disguise of King Arthur, he never identifies himself as King Arthur to the Thundercats. He only identifies himself as a knight sent by Jaga to aid them.
Lion-O rode a saddled unicorn in the joust competition against Mumm-Ra, who was disguised as a knight in a suit of armor.
Goof: After Arthur takes off his gloves and slaps Lion-O in the face with them, he drops them to the ground. In the next moment you see he is wearing gloves again, but then as he walks out of the room he isn't wearing gloves.
Goof: Mumm-Ra said that Lion-O defeated his monster creations with the Sword of Omens then showed a flashback to him defeating the Warbot in Return to Thundera. However, the Warbot was created by the Mutants, not Mumm-Ra. They designed it before they ever arrived on Third Earth.
Snarf: But why didn't you keep it, Lion-O? Snarf, snarf.
Lion-O: I had to return it.
Snarf: But you won it. Merlin gave it to you!
Lion-O: No, he didn't, Snarf. He said I had to decide, and I told him to return it to the Lady of the Lake.
Lion-O: Because I didn't earn it.
Snarf: You beat Mumm-Ra!
Lion-O: I should never have fought him. Cheetara was right. I let him get to me, and until I can control that, I've got a long way to go.
Merlin: Excalibur is yours now. You must decide its fate.
Lion-O: Where did Mumm-Ra get it?
Merlin: From the Lady of the Lake who has guarded Excalibur for thousands of years.
Lion-O: Then, Merlin, you must return it. Ho! (the sword grows in size and he sticks it in the ground) We have a sword that fights for justice, truth, honor, and loyalty. The Code of Thundera!
(After Mumm-Ra unsuccessfully tried to pull Excalibur back out of the ground)
Merlin: Fool! Did you think that the greatest sword of all time would serve your evil purposes? Your brief moment of glory is over! Get back to your dark sarcophagus.
Cheetara: The whole thing's ridiculous. He's fighting to save his pride.
Panthro: He had no choice, Cheetara.
Cheetara: Of course he had a choice! He could have walked away! He's just lowering himself to that... that madman's level.
Arthur: Shouldn't someone be looking after my horse?
Snarf: Snarf, snarf. Are you guys gonna take this?
Lion-O: You certainly know how to rub people the wrong way, stranger.

The Lady of the Lake
The Lady of the Lake is synonomous with the legend of King Arthur and his sword Excalibur. Aside from the sword in the stone legend, it is also suggested that she is the one who gave Excalibur to King Arthur, thus why he had it returned to her when he was at the end of his life. Many believe that she enchanted Merlin and thus made him her prisoner for eternity.
Excalibur is the legendary sword used by King Arthur. In some stories it possesses magical powers. Some believe it was Merlin who thrust the sword into the stone for it to await someone with a pure heart to pull it out who would become ruler. After King Arthur's laid dying, he gave instructions for the sword to be cast to the Lady in the Lake. The sword was thus thrown into a lake and a woman's arms reached above the waters and caught it. It is said she would guard the sword until Arthur returned for it to save England from a great threat.
King Arthur is a legendary king from England who became king after pulling the sword Excalibur from a stone. He was a wise and fair ruler who led a group of knights on a fight against evil and injustice.
