This was one of the biggest football games of the year, nearly on par with the Saturday night game between the then 15-0 New England Patriots and New York Giants, a game that would be watched by millions and would end up as the Super Bowl that year.

Tony Romo and company got out to an early 14-0 lead, and were able to hold on, winning 24-17. The Saints are a resilient bunch though and nearly came back. They are going to be tough to beat on the road in the playoffs, but I think there are a few teams out there that can do it.

    • Dallas Coach Wade Phillips: I said all along this team has a lot of heart, a lot of character and a lot of leaders. I didn't think this team could get beat three times in a row.

    • New Orleans Coach Sean Payton: We'll digest this. Nonetheless, it is what it is and we've got to get back to work next week. We have two important games in front of us and we'll take that approach.

    • New Orleans Quarterback Drew Brees: This is going to sting for a while but we've got to be able to put this behind us. It's all about the next game.

(on the possibility of an undefeated regular season)
New Orleans Quarterback Drew Brees: We feel like we deserved it and the whole city deserved it and we wanted to make it happen. That's probably the most disappointing thing about it.

    • Dallas Quarterback Tony Romo: That was a fun one. These are the ones you love to play.
