I feel bad for the Chiefs. I like Matt Cassel and still think he will be a starter somewhere down the line, and Jamaal Charles is one of the most dynamic players in the league, but this is just not working. I can blame Romeo Crennel, I can blame the Chargers for being motivated tonight, but this game was just hard to watch.

Tough to see Kansas City fall this way.moreless
  • About as Expected

I felt this game was going to be a rout and in the end it was. San Diego is a much better team than Kansas City and the Chargers were about due for a good performance. I don't believe that the G.M. and Coach's jobs were on the line tonight, but I think they might be unless 4-4 turns into 10-6 and a playoff berth.

On another note, I don't for a minute believe San Diego will win this division. After that performance on Sunday night against the Saints, Denver is - to me anyway - a lock to win the AFC West and Kansas City a lock for a Top 5 draft pick.moreless

    • Kansas City Coach Romeo Crennel: Similar to what's been happening throughout the course of this year, we shoot ourselves in the foot. We're in a hole and we have to fight our way out. ... It wasn't very good overall, but we're going to keep coaching and keep fighting and play our way out of it.

    • San Diego Quarterback Philip Rivers: We didn't talk about it specifically, but we want to win for him (coach Norw Turner) every week. You play for a lot of things, but we play for our coach. I think that has been evident over the years when we have struggled.
      .
San Diego Quarterback Philip Rivers: It was good to play well but more importantly, it was good to win a game. We needed a win in the worst way. Games like this, wins like this can jump start us.

    • Kansas City Quarterback Matt Cassel: We fought hard, played hard, but at the end of the game it came down to the turnovers.
