You'll find very few that will argue the unambiguous fact that 'Til Death has some "striking similarities" to The King of Queens, to say the least. This episode had a plot yanked right from the 9 season show, only the laughs were missing.

JB Smoove stole the show for the third consecutive week with his off-base and "urban" style of humor that made him popular on Curb Your Enthusiasm as Leon.

The reason I brought up the King of Queens comparison is because Eddie Stark failed to deliver the plethora of one-liners you'd get from Doug Heffernan. The scripts are clearly written to be spoken the same way, yet the delivery and comedic timing simply isn't there.

One of the problems with The King of Queens in later episodes was the intolerable character of Carrie Heffernan. Annoying, paranoid and simply not amusing are some of the words you could use to describe her. Her storylines drifted the show way off course, while the actress portraying her made a hefty sum of money in the process. Joy Stark is pretty much the same way except she wasn't acceptable for 5 seasons prior.

This was a decent installment of the show, mainly because of the Wendie Malick cameo. Still though, if 'Til Death wants to avoid being on tv.com's "Worst Show" ballot next year, they're gonna need to crank up the laughs, writing and acting.moreless

    • Eddie: Hey Joy, can you just tell me what I did wrong?
Joy: I don't know Eddie. Why don't you tell me what you did wrong?
Eddie: Is it because I was checking out the cleavage on the ticket girl? Because it wasn't my fault. She was just exploding out of that red blazer.
Joy: You checked out the ticket girl?
Eddie: See, this is why I don't like guessing.

    • Steph: Hey Hon, how was work?
Jeff: It was great! How was uh... waiting for me to come home from work?
      Steph: Pretty rough.

    • Eddie: Excuse me for not crying at our wedding. It's just that the true sadness of that day didn't hit me until right now.

    • Joy: I like our relationship too, but don't you want to make our marriage better?
Eddie: (after long silent pause) Just seems like a lot of work.
