Tinga Tinga Tales is the children's animated series based on African folk tales. The series is aimed at 4 to 6-year old viewers, and is created in Kenya. Claudia Lloyd, head of animation at Tiger Aspect, first started developing the series during her travels through Africa. The series is inspired by traditional animal stories from Africa, and the Tingatinga artwork of Tanzania. The show features characters from all over the Africa, from monkeys to hippos, bats, frogs, warthogs, porcupines, flamingos, and many many more animal friends. The stories on the show cover tales of the animal kingdom, like Why Elephant Has a Trunk, Why Bat Hangs Upside Down, Why Giraffe Has a Long Neck, and Why Chameleon Changes Color. These fascinating and fun stories entertain and educate children about the animal kingdom, while transporting them into a colorful world of Tinga Tinga. Join in for learning and amusement with some animal friends on Tinga Tinga Tales.
