Goopy Gear came from a self-titled cartoon. Foxy & Roxy were originally seen in the first Merry Melody, "Lady Play Your Mandolin", which can be seen on the Looney Tunes Golden Collection DVD set.

The characters of Foxy & Roxy were actually two of the first Warner Bros. cartoons ever created. They were never very popular because of their similarity to Disney's Mickey & Minnie Mouse; many early WB artists had left Disney and tried to create new and different characters... and were unsuccessful for quite some time.

Charlie Adler makes the voice of Buster in this episode. This episode might have inspired the Warner Bros. cartoon, Animaniacs.
