Titmuss Regained is the sequel to the 1986 TV series, Paradise Postponed and continues the story of the socially awkward Leslie Titmuss (David Threlfall) who does not fit in with the residents of Rapstone village. In the earlier show, we learned how the politically successful, but loathsome, Titmuss inherited the Simcox brewery millions from the Reverend Simeon Simcox ( Michael Hordern). At the start of Titmuss Regained, Titmuss is the government minister for housing and planning. Titmuss falls for the beautiful Jenny Sidonia (Kristin Scott Thomas), who he tries to whoo romantically. When this does not work he buys the beautiful Rapstone manor for them both to live in. This works, and they marry but at the same time news starts to surface of the planned development of a new community that will change life in the village forever. Leslie is the only one that can stop this, but yo do so would mean sacrificing his political beliefs.
