    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    FILTER BY TYPE

    • TRIVIA (2)

      • Just after Titus tries to ruin Erin's credibility in front of the social worker, the scene switches to Titus' neutral zone. There, he recommends that Chinese restaurant owners put a mouse head in the food of social workers. He then says that he was joking, but then points at two Chinese characters that appear on screen. The characters, 做它! say 'zuo ta!' or 'do it!'

      • Titus mentions that Erin was a social worker for only a day. In a later episode, "Grad School," we get to see Erin's day as a social worker.

    • QUOTES (7)

      • Ken: Now that you bought wheels, when are you gonna get a place of your own?
5-Year-Old Titus: Believe me, I'm working on it.

      • Titus: "Compassion" was a 10-letter word you did not say at my house. That and "psychological evaluation." Two words. More than ten letters. Wait. Yeah. I didn't know compassion existed till I met Erin. Four letters, proper noun, meaning "hot!"

      • Titus: (opening narration) Normal people who grow up with compassion never amount to anything. They're the ones who end up gluing those little dots on the highway, or putting glue on the dots for the guy who glues dots on the highway. But screwed-up people who weren't coddled or raised with compassion? Ho-ho! We get stuff done. Sure, we feel a little alone and abandoned, but we're (choked up) very happy. Why can't you love me, Daddy?!

      • Erin: I am not on drugs. There is a clown in the closet who can verify that!
Titus: You know, when she's on the right drugs, the clowns just go away.

      • Titus: Have you ever seen a place so clean, Dave? I would eat off of this floor.
        Dave: And look, cheese!
        Titus: Dave!

      • Titus: No, hun, there's a huge obstacle for us taking Amy in, remember? We hate her!
Erin: She could do chores around the house!
Titus: (looks around) Like..bringing in the garbage?

      • Amy: I don't want you here!
Erin: Amy, we've invited all your friends..it's gonna be a party!
Amy: It's gonna be a "Look, Amy lives in garbage!" party.

    • NOTES (1)

      • Rachel Roth joins the regular cast with this episode, reprising her role as Erin's niece Amy. Unfortunately, the rest of season three is shown out of logical order, so that the careful revelation of Amy's back story is disrupted.
