Sweet Willie Brown who is a pimp and a crook is let off on a technicality. Hooker and Romano give him a ticket for unsafe driving. Minutes later he is pulled over again by two other cops named Roper and Kelly. They kill him. Later at the scene, Hooker talks with the manager of a hotel. He gives him a name, Ralph Jenko. They visit him at his home. His wife answers and then he comes to the door. They take him outside and he says he was with a hooker named Gloria who saw the murder. Later at Sherry's bar, Hooker sees an old friend, Captain Frank Medavoy. He is in charge of Roper and Kelly. He starts to talk with Frank about the killings and Frank is not very upset about it. The next day Hooker and Romano track down Gloria in a rooftop and she says that two cops killed Sweet Willie. Roper and Kelly come to the bar that night and try to pick up Stacey. Corrigan punches him after he goes too far. They bet $500 that Hooker will beat Roper in the precinct shootout. Roper and Kelly talk to their Captain Medavoy about setting up Hooker and Ramano to do their killings for them. It works and Hooker plays handball with Frank the next day and realizes he has changed. Hooker has a shootout with Roper for the championship for the best precinct. Roper loses by one shot. He reaches for his backup. Hooker comments that most cops don't use a backup. Later Gloria tells Hooker that the cop that killed Willie drew his backup gun and killed him. Hooker goes to see Roper and Kelly and finds a box of 22 bullets in the glove compartment. That was the same ammo used in all of the killings. Hooker goes to tell Frank about it. Hooker meets him at a wrecking yard and Frank tells him he is the leader and wants Hooker to join him. He tells him no and his guys try to kill Hooker. He shoots both Roper and Kelly and chases down Frank. He arrests him and he upset at him. Solid episode that is almost an exact copy of the movie Magnum Force. I liked the movie and this episode.moreless
