A man walks into a garage and shoots a female attourney with a shotgun. He is telling her it is her fault. Hooker and Jim get the call and are in hot pursuit. They end up losing him. It is the third woman attourney killed in this manor. Stacey gets a call because she was good friends with the woman that was killed. She is very upset and Hooker tells her they will find the killer. They track down that all the women killed went to the same law school at the same time. They narrow it down to twelve women that could be the next target. Hooker finds a lead from another woman attourney. He is told of a woman named Rosemary who was dropped from law school because she was deemed unstable. That leads them to her boyfriend who is the killer. He is upset and blames all women attourneys because of the ones who judged her unfit. She is now in an insane assylum. Hooker interupts his next victim, but she is still shot. Hooker and a woman who saw him, make a composit drawing. Jim and Stacey also realize they saw him when they were visiting Rosemary at the assylum. His name is Martin Novack and he was a former patient at the assylum. They go to his appartment and find the list of victims. They have Stacey be the shadow of the next intended victim. He tries to make a hit at the courthouse. He hides in the bathroom and confronts Stacey and the woman. He shoots and misses and jumps out the window. Hooker chases him down and shoots him. A very good episode with a good job of acting by the killer.moreless

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (3)

    • When Hooker, Stacy and Corrigan are walking along outside the LCPD headquarters, Hooker's line "A silver sedan car. I got the first two letters of the license plate..." is noticeably dubbed – his lips don't even sync.

    • As Hooker, alone in a patrol car, gets the description of the van over the radio, there is a brief exterior shot of the patrol car driving past the camera where two officers can be seen sitting inside.

    • In the scene where Corrigan and Stacy are making enquires on the street, the shot seems to be filmed on a "live" street – and a black guy can be seen walking right through shot, and looking right into the camera, before seemingly realizing that something is being filmed behind him.

  • QUOTES (2)

    • Frances Driscoll: It's been a long day, Hooker. Mind if I stop in the powder room before we hit the freeway?
Hooker: No problem. Stacy, go with her.
Frances Driscoll: Well, I guess that's preferable to you going in with me.

    • Hooker: You're pressing it, Stacy.
Stacy: I thought Karen was the psychiatrist?
Hooker: She's got the diploma, I've got the streets.
